2017 Gift Guides: My Wish List (+ BFFs and Moms)

As I started to collect items for my gift guide for girlfriends (moms and aunts included) I realized how many items were on my own wish list and the guide I was putting together - so here you’ll find items I would love to unwrap or would happily gift to my BFF or my mom. And, since it’s Small Business Saturday, I’ve included some of my favorite small shops alongside the bigger brands to whom I’m loyal.

Clockwise from top left:

I’ve always wanted to try Moon Dust. It’s Gwyneth Paltrow approved and frankly I’ll try whatever’s working for her (within price range!). The Moon Juice Moon Dust Sachet Sampler Set includes everything from Brain Dust to Beauty Dust, promising to combat stress and more. ($35)

I just ran out of my beloved Glossier Haloscope and need a replacement + I think every lady on my list deserves this magical highlighter. ($22)

I would love to splurge on a fancy hairbrush. It’s something you use everyday, after all. The Mason Pearson Nylon & Boar Bristle Brush has rave reviews. ($205)

We all know I’m a sucker for stripes, and so is my mom. The Eve Handwoven Linen Robe looks like it belongs in a Wes Anderson movie and is made from the same fabric used to make Turkish towels. ($149)

The Canasta Chica bag is part of the Palma Collection from Nipoma (another West Coast Craft discovery), which features handmade structured baskets made out of dried and woven palm fronds. I’d use this for weekend farmer’s market runs or to store magazines in our living room. Plus, it’s so affordable! ($48)

Hank Panky makes the most comfortable lingerie. Who wouldn’t want to unwrap the Hanky Panky Three Pack Signature Lace Something Blue Boy Shorts? ($87)

We celebrated Christmas with my parents early since we’ll be with my in-laws on December 25 this year. My mom gifted me the J. Crew Vintage Short-Sleeve Pajama Set and I cannot wait to wear them! They come with a short-sleeved top which is ideal for someone like me, who wants to be cozy but gets too hot in long sleeves! ($85)

I’m hoping my husband’s reading this, because I really need the Sherpa Slide Slippers for chilly morning dog walks. ($50)

Sam Edelman makes some of my favorite shoes. They’re affordable, comfortable, and on-trend. The Sam Edelman Tinsley Chelsea Rain Booties are matte and look close enough to a Chelsea bootie to be worn without embarrassment after the rain stops. ($55)

As I’ve said, I have a thing for camo. And everything Veronica Beard is 100. The Veronica Beard Jean Mercer Jacket is at the tip top of my dream wish list. ($395)

I am skeptical about facial massagers, but know some my girlfriends love testing new beauty products and the Royal Jade Facial Massager is pretty enough to gift. ($10)

My mom and I both have a thing for tortoiseshell. These Franklin Double Old-Fashioned Glasses are bar cart display worthy. ($10.95 per glass)

Frank Original Coffee Scrub smells so good and sloughs away dry skin in the winter. ($18)

Bottom row:

I met the lovely Juliana Barton at West Coast Craft, when I was admiring her jewelry, which is primarily made of laser cut and handcrafted vegetable tanned leather and brass. I may have to pick up the Mini Brass Drop Earrings for my BFF. ($38)

My current wallet is a Clare V. coin purse with my monogram that was gifted by a close girlfriend. Because five of my closest girlfriends all have the same one I’ve held onto it longer than I should have - it’s started to fall apart! The S├ęzane Small Eugene Wallet may be my replacement. ($95)

I pull a vest on almost year round in San Francisco, save for “summer” months in September and October. This Madewell x Penfield Mattawa Fleece Vest looks so comfy. ($135)
