Shibori Dying

At work, I'm challenged and learn new things all the time, which I'm grateful for. And moving to a new city (and an actual city city) was a challenge. But as an adult the challenges are different and sometimes it's nice to learn something new. You know? A few months ago I took a class (flower arranging) at WorkshopSF with a friend and Sunday a few of us returned for another class. This time: Shibori Dying.

I'd seen Shabori but didn't know that it's an ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique. In this class we learned the basics of Shabori and made 4 rad napkins with 4 different patterns/styles. It was fun to work with my hands, learn something new, and a really lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Plus, the napkins turned out pretty well, right?
