Back In San Diego. Heart Is Still In San Francisco

I spent the last week in the Bay Area visiting family and friends, and it made me realize just how much I miss Northern California and the pulse of city life. San Francisco really pulled out all of the stops (as you can see from the photos).

We're home now, after a very frenzied day of travel. I do not wish upon any of you the opportunity to travel aboard the same plane as my son Phoenix. He very much does not like sitting. And he felt compelled to express himself fully (and loudly). On our way home we sat next to a very kind man. He introduced himself as Bob from Florida and he had five grown kids of his own. He then promptly engaged in a game of peek a boo with Phoenix and proceeded to read him three books and repeatedly told me that I was doing a fantastic job. I think I thanked Bob 100 times throughout the flight, but I'm thanking him again now.
As moms of toddlers everywhere know, the friendliest faces are those that smile reassuringly and make you understand that you're doing the best you can.

Have you ever been to San Francisco?

I highly recommend Foreign Cinema and Delfina Pizzeria. And if you want more suggestions, don't forget to check out our city guide (Kirby's a local now, so she won't steer you wrong)!

Love this - I just moved back to SF after six months away, and it feels like a honeymoon with the city all over again. So glad you got a chance to visit and enjoy.

As for Phoenix and the plane: you ARE doing a great job, and I'm glad you had such a kind seat companion! We all need to help each other out every once in a while :)
