What Alexa Wore: Dressed Up Tank and Shorts

9/18/2014

It's almost fall? Couldn't tell...it's like 100 degrees right now in San Diego. Hence, I am wearing a tank top and shorts.

This, friends is a new series. It's called "What Kirby (or Alexa) Wore" and it's not terribly riveting except for the fact that maybe you will get some inspiration for your own date nights, cocktail parties, exercise classes, days when all you do is run around chasing your children around (seriously, I got you covered moms. You may be frazzled, sweaty and overwhelmed, but it is possible to look like one of those chic French moms while doing so, promise).

Just to be clear, I am not advocating that you give up your old vintage pair of comfy sweats. This series is only meant to provide ideas when you feel like you want a fashionable lift in your wardrobe. And honestly, sometimes it's just as small as applying a new lipstick, love this for fall). Nevertheless we hope you enjoy, and happy almost fall!

1. Tank that goes that extra mile with style.
2. Jean shorts (doesn't matter if they are well-worn).
3. Sandal wedges (or sandals, flip flops, barefoot, depending on how casual your outing is)
4. Statement necklace (optional).

(The last two items have sold out, but I've linked to similar products).

What a comfy top and I love the little surprise cutout in the back. Business in the front...party in the back :)

I really like the split-back tank and you style it well with the sandal wedges. I'd prefer to wear more massive jewellery but the one you chose is so cute and romantic. Thanks for sharing your outfit and the links.
