The Menu Is Wrong

9/23/2014

The other night, around 6:30pm, Matt comes up to me and says: "The dinner menu says Tandoori Chicken with rice and avocado salad. But I can't find that anywhere." I'm not sure what the "that" was that he was referring to. The chicken, which was not defrosted. The dinner, which was definitely not made or something else entirely, which perhaps he (or I misplaced).

Whatever the case, I quickly corrected him, asserting that in fact, the menu was wrong. Tandoori Chicken was the next night (or whichever night presented itself with the abundance of time and energy) and instead tonight was "Baguette and Burrata night." He seemed stunned that all dinner was to consist of was bread and cheese. To be fair, we had fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden and a chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, so all was not lost. If I am to be really honest, I could probably just take a spoon and eat the Burrata plain out of a bowl, but let's not get too low-brow here. Sidenote: is eating Burrata ever considered low-brow?

Tandoori chicken sounds great and all, but sometimes a menu swap is not necessarily a bad decision. What's been on your menu lately? I'd love to hear!

We've been eating bruschetta for dinner several nights a week lately. We are on a big tomato kick.

Love you guys so much. That entire exchange sounds so familiar, and the end result is glorious!

P.S. We occasionally have bread and "dip" for dinner(aka a sauce from a market in Little Italy that may or may not be intended for bread). We don't even bother with plates, eat it right out of the plastic takeout container, and it's often in front of the TV. Burrata with a spoon sounds classy in comparison.

Too too funny! Sundays are always fish nights but I changed it up last week and the look on my hubby's face was priceless. He was so confused. We've been baking a lot of chicken and I am ready for a change. This meal looks delish!
