Shopping Haitus

8/07/2014

I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that San Francisco is an expensive city. Sure, rent is high, but we are spending so much (so much) less on our cars that it kind of evens out. What is affecting our budget, however, is the amazing food and easy access to bars, restaurants, and shops. So, my friends, I am taking a shopping hiatus.

When we first moved there were the inevitable Target runs, but there were also necessary clothing purchases for me. I quickly realized I needed more shoes I can walk in (it's a hilly city, after all), more cropped pants (to go with said shoes, which are typically booties or mules), and light jackets (to ward off Karl the Fog). Now that I feel like I have the essentials, it's time to take a shopping break. But that doesn't mean I can't share my wishlist with you, right?

Clare Vivier Flat Clutch in Russet with Black Mini Spots I spotted this at a boutique in Hayes Valley and have been thinking of it ever since.

Dry Bar Dry Shampoo For second-day hair.

Madewell Silk Fortune Top in Wet Boulder Such an effortless short for work and weekends.

Gap Quilted Vest in Acorn I know it's still summer, but it doesn't feel like it right now!

Madewell Transport Tote in English Saddle I love my structured black Kate Spade work tote but would love to alternate it with this one.

Nike Air Max Thea My running shoes need replacing and I'd like to get a vintage-looking black pair like these.

Love the wishlist! Sometimes a shopping hiatus is good for the wallet and the soul. Also, my husband went to San Fran for work, and he was so impressed. He also couldn't stop talking about all the hills!

I got my Madewell bag almost a year ago and I wouldn't part with it for the world. I use it for everything and constantly get comments on it. Worth the splurge!

LOVE that clutch, and I've been considering that bag for almost a year! I just need to bite the bullet and buy it!

I am all about keeping a good wish list, esecially when I am taking a shopping break. Because inevitably I will still come across things that I love..so why not keep track of them. And then so great when you look back in a few months, and are still lusting after the same item. That way you really know it would be a good purchase.

Almost everything Clare Vivier is on my wish list, but right now I am especially eyeing the leopard print clutch!

One thing I don't miss of living in northern California is all those foggy days.

Loving your wish list!
Happy weekend!
