Fresh Pesto Pasta (A Summer Staple)

6/24/2014

"Pasta. Can't live without it." True words, my friends. True words. Also, do yourself a favor, in your lifetime make it a priority to go to Italy. Find the teeniest little village perched high above the Ligurian Sea. Order the pesto pasta from the little old man that has rented you a room in his farmhouse and eat it outside, near a lemon grove. Listen to his stories in Italian (it doesn't matter if you don't speak Italian, you'll somehow still understand what he's saying). Don't rush. Linger for a few hours, watch the sun set and observe the twinkling lights of towns below. You'll realize this will be one of those moments that decades from now you'll remember with perfect clarity, even if other memories have faded. Ricordate, e una bella vita.

I recently shared a tasty Pesto Pasta recipe on the Lulu & Georgia Blog. Even if you're not in Italy...it's still delizioso. Click here for the recipe!

Every Monday night in our house is pesto night–I absolutely adore it! Even on the chilliest SF nights, it brings a little bit of summer light.

We just got back from Italy and, yes, the pasta was so amazing. Every single plate of it. I'm so impressed with the creative ways they put together this staple. We're making homemade pasta this weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out. ;)

This is so sweet, I teared a little. These little moments in life, involving pasta and conversation and lemon groves. They're so important.
