Just Remember.

Oh Tina Fey. I love you.

It's been a rough one over here folks. I'm not gonna lie. Stomach flu for Mila, Phoenix being...well, an infant, sleepless nights. I seriously walked into a wall the other day I was so tired. Then I burst into laughter because I could literally say: "I hit a wall." Then I burst into tears because I literally hit a wall. Blasted hormones!

Everyone is feeling better, thank goodness. And Phoenix slept 10 hours last night. I could slobber all over his little face with kisses (I might have actually done that). But seriously sometimes a good long, snotty cry in the shower is good for the soul. Am I right?

Absolutely!! When I'm like this I love watching really sappy and sad movies to cry my eyes out and get it all out of the system! I'm sorry its been hard....I really wish I could come over and help out somehow....maybe bring you dinner! Things will look up...they always do :)

Preach Tina! And some of my best cries have been snotty, shower cries. Rock on, girl.

so true. i don't cry very often for myself - commercials, tv, something someone says, reading a harrowing story; i can tear up a hundred times a day. so when i get that instinct that i need to sit down and have a good cry i just go with it. it feels cleansing sometimes. i liken it to needing one of those riotous belly laughs that make your belly and face hurt and makes you snort - after you're done, you are like "oh, i needed that."

Aw, I hope there is more sleep in your future. I had one poor night of sleep and I'm a grumpy zombie, I don't know how parents do it!

I'm glad you're feeling better. and keeping all your emotions under control is overrated. it's your life. who cares what it makes others feel! xxx

Totally, a good cry is great to clean our emotions!! :)

I'm sorry it's been a rough time Alexa, but hopefully knowing that you won the Alexa Chung book giveaway on trustyourstyle will cheer you up :) Could you please email me your address - I can't seem to find your email address in my messy gmail.

p.s. I agree, sometimes a good cry is the only thing that will make things better.

you are SO right! i'm not a mama yet, so i can't imagine that level of sleep-deprivation and stress, but i know the emotional release of a good cry is sometimes the only thing that makes things feel better. hang in there!! xx

Yes, you are right, Alexa. A good cry really does make things better sometimes. I hope you will manage to find a balance. I can imagine it can be tricky when you have kids, and especially an infant.
