Dinner Out.

10/14/2013

For our five year (!!!) anniversary Matt and I went out to dinner. Alone. A momentous occasion! It was amazing to sit down to a three course meal with champagne and wine and talk about grown-up things: politics, the world, the economy, houses, traveling. With a toddler and an infant in the house you forget that there is a real world out there. Luckily we have this (which provides news recaps and laughs, two things that you desperately need when you feel like you are stuck in a sleep-deprived fog).

We dined at El Paseo in Mill Valley (pictured above). It was incredible. I highly recommend it if you ever find yourself wandering about there. On a side note, I want to live in Mill Valley. If you see any homes for sale that aren't...you know...in the two million dollar price range, you have my email!

We had baked oysters, dates with blue cheese, bacon and maple syrup (oh.my.God), and Matt had halibut and I had short ribs.

For dessert we had this "snowball" of melted chocolate, coconut and devil's food cake. My taste buds were on cloud nine.

Do you have any favorite restaurants? Do share!

*Sorry for the poor picture quality, all I had was my iPhone!

that oyster concoction sounds heavenly! that's why there are chefs in this world because i would personally never whip anything like that up on my own - but it does sound pretty scrumptious.

happy anniversary, i am so glad that you got out and were able to partake in a little conversing a la adult mode. also you look beautiful and happy.

I live close to Mill Valley and I have never gone out there. I will need to explore it one of these days!

Yay for date night...and a little romance and adult conversation to go with it! We don't have kids yet, but I know how special it can be to get away and not talk shop (no easy feat when we both work at the same place) :) Happy 5!
