Small Spaces

8/20/2013

We moved about six months ago, and I think this is my favorite spot yet - but it is also the smallest place I've ever lived (with the exception of my dorm room).

The major selling points of our current place are the landscaped yard (that's as big as the little house), the washer-dryer (I don't think I can ever go back to the quarter machines), and the upgrades (we have a farmhouse sink in our bathroom that I adore).

Now that we're getting wedding presents, we're getting creative with our space even more so than when we moved in. So I'm looking for inspiration in photos like the ones above.

We moved from a townhouse to an apartment, and I have to say that moving to the apartment really forced me to re-evaluate some of our belongings. At first, it was kind of difficult, but now I love how everything we own has a purpose. It is also was helpful that for the first time the husband and I were finally out of grad school and could upgrade a few things! I love your inspiration!

Small spaces have such a homey quality to them. Plus, you can decorate without breaking the bank, because you won't need a lot of 'filler' furniture. :)

I am in a small space too and I find that a pot rack saved our kitchen! We registered for it at pottery barn and I love it!

I am always so fascinated by how people decorate small spaces. I wish I had an ounce of creativity to make my old small apts this clean and fresh looking!

The kitchen in the top photo is absolutely lovely! Every element is so well placed and that exposed brick wall adds even more charm and warmth to the space.
