Seriously Amazing Guacamole.

4/30/2013

I have a serious weakness for avocados. I think there's a running joke that all Californians have an unnatural obsession with them...but honestly what is not to love? So whenever Matt and I have taco night, it's a pretty sure bet that avocados will be making an appearance on our table. One of our favorite ways to enjoy them is in their mashed up guacamole form. The simplest, easiest, tastiest guacamole in my opinion has four ingredients.
1. Avocado
2. A pinch of salt
3. A pinch of pepper
Can you guess the fourth? Read below to find out...

4. A few hearty squeezes of lemon.

Fantastic. Grab a bag of chips, make your margaritas and enjoy your fiesta!

I always go for simple mashed avocado with salt and lime over the fancier recipes with onion, jalapeno and tomatoes–although those are pretty delicious, too!

Smashed avo guac is the best! I like to add fresh coriander/cilantro too as a staple, just for the burst of freshness and then sometimes harissa paste or a dash of salsa too. This looks yummy!

this is my favorite kind of guac because i hate tomatoes and onions. and i'm pretty sure we have a normal obsession with avocados and that everyone else is just jealous since avos are awesome and they don't get them as much. because i'm pretty sure avocados belong on everything.

I'm so with you on the avocado and simple guac lovin (and I'm from New york!). I loathe cilantro so my favorite kind is just what you said-- and when I want to be fancy I add some garlic and onion!

I make my guac the same way - nice and simple with just a little sea salt, pepper, and lemon. Sometimes I'll change it up with lime but I don't add much else. To me, it's all about the avocado!!

I LOVE guacamole! It's so fresh tasting, and it reminds me of summer. We went out for Mexican last week and had a delicious bowl of guacamole. And since Cinco de Mayo is this weekend I'm pretty sure it will find it's way back on our table somehow :)

the simpler the better! and LEMON makes ALL the difference. I was actually questioning myself on the 4th ingredient while my computer loaded the "read more"!! Sounds ridiculous, I know, but i thought maybe you had a sneaky new trick for quacamole! :D
Looks delicious and you've reminded me, I need to get some avocados!

that sounds so fresh and easy! :) i love when guacamole isn't bogged down by tons of tomato/onion/cilantro!

I prefer the simpler recipes too. Although sometimes I'll add some plain Greek yogurt to make it a little creamier. Love guacamole!
