Destination: West Elm

You guys...meet our new sofa! Oh my gosh I'm giddy with excitement. Can you be giddy over a sofa? Yes, apparently you can. Finding a new sofa has been on the list of Many Things lately. But then there is timing. And of course money. But then Matt stepped in for the win during a work competition and walked home with a sparkling West Elm gift card. A girl's dream. I realize I am sounding ridiculous right now. But that's okay. Sometimes Kirby and I walk the sensible route here on the blog and other times...well we get enthralled over the sleek Mid Century lines of a new sofa. So yes, the Crosby sofa will soon be sitting in our living room. And I will be sitting in it, quite happily, I assure you.

Here is where I'm looking for a bit of advice. If you were to accessorize with pillows, what color/pattern scheme would you choose. The sofa will actually be in a slate gray (cream is my first choice, but then we have a toddler, a black dog and baby on the way, I am trying to remain somewhat sensible). Below are some options I've pulled together.
Tell me, what is your favorite combo? I'm kind of partial to Row 1. But then Row 2 is so wonderfully Mid Century, it seems to just call out to the sofa. And Row three is just a wild mix of colors and patterns, which is always hard to turn down.

You can find the sofa here.

Row 1 for sure! I'm a bit of a West Elm fanatic and fell in love with this couch as well recently. But seeing that I already have a sofa in perfectly decent condition, I couldn't justify buying a new one... but totally jealous of your purchase.

Are you kidding? Trying to redo (read: create) a living room is so stressful and expensive it's absolutely driving me up the wall. HORRAAAAAAY for sofa!

i love your new sofa! it's similar shape to mine but much better :) i went for a very light sand color when my twins were about 9 months old. you are so smart not to with the grey! woulda, coulda, shoulda goes through my mind every time i look at my sofa now 4 years later : /

being a pillow maker, i'd go with row #2 because i could never make that third one and i love it! i think the mid-century vibe goes really well with the sofa too. good luck deciding, but what makes pillows so great is you can always change them out and get more!

I was walking past West Elm yesterday on my lunch break and had to repeat mentally "don't go in, don't go in..." But those pillows are perfect for our mid century modern casa!

Hi there,
Just found this post in a search for Crosby sofa reviews...I'm ready to make the purchase after drooling over it for over a month online, but I'm having a hard time ordering a sofa that I've never sat on before! Is it comfortable? Are the back cushions wearing well or starting to flatten? If you could give me your input I'd REALLY appreciate it. My email is katelynpalmer10@gmail.com - Thanks in advance, Katelyn

I am totally wondering the same thing as the anonymous poster before me! And I too came here while searching for reviews! Do you love your sofa? Is it holding up well? Comfortable?

I have had this sofa for about 9 months. I upgraded the fabric one level up. The sofa was priced at $2,499. 25% off sale and free shipping. Total cost was around $1,750. I really regret buying this sofa. It is wearing really bad. The cushions are all misshaped from very mild wear (I live alone). Everything about it screams cheap. The arms are round, as opposed to squared and fitted. The seating cushions are such poor quality that they have sunk and formed pot-hole looking indentations. The cushion always look wrinkled and misshaped. I would not buy this sofa again.
