Surfing and Artisting
Posted by Alexa2/04/2013
For those that know my husband Matt they know he loves to chase a wave. They also know that he loves creative projects. Also he sees them through....like almost immediately. I, other hand, like thinking about all of the creative things that I'm going to do. Then I will complete step 1 and continue thinking about how I am going to do steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 "sometime soon," which usually translates to either a year later or never. This is why I am a terrible DIY blogger. Matt (who's always full of ideas, some good and some weird), suggested that maybe I should start posting about his projects. I kind of like this idea, especially since his latest one is kind of rad.
He took one of his surfboards and drew the shoreline of San Diego, with all of the known surfspots. He wants me to tell you that this is still a work in progress, which means it will probably be done tomorrow...but I didn't have a post for today (see above), so I was desperate. Plus I still think it looks cool now. I actually think it would make for really cool artwork in a little beach-inspired cottage, so I've put in a request that when he retires it, it can come live on one of our walls. What about you guys, do you like to draw, paint....be creative?

You should be so proud of such a creative man... I love his project and look forward to see more of them.
That board looks awesome! Surfing is NUMBER ONE on my bucket list. Someday, someday...
This is completely awesome, Alexa!!! Your husband is so creative :) This board turned out so cool! On a side note, does he happen to have a Borst Surfboard? Just curious because it's my uncle's company :) He lives in Oceanside! XO Brynn
I think that is pretty sweet. I would love to be able to paint. I did used to throw ceramics back in the day, but due to access, I have been out of it for a while. Some day...
This is SO cool! I love when artwork has a special meaning behind it. This should definitely find it's permanent home on your walls :) I am not very creative/artsy, but I so wish I were!
So wait, you're telling me that MATT made that absolutely stunning board?! Girl. He's a keeper.
Oh I love this, very cool! I like to do it all - draw, paint, photoshop, you name it! Hey, stop by and enter my Giveaway when you get a chance Alexa: http://tinyurl.com/be8h6ro

This is great! Awesome project and such a fun twist on featuring DIY projects.
I would totally snatch up a print of that if it ever made it into the paper medium. :)
