Doctoring at Home

11/13/2012

Ugh you guys...flu season is here in a big way at the Evans household. Both Mila and I were struck by this respiratory virus and it's no bueno. Today I'm sharing "sick stash" with you, so that God forbid you get bitten by this immensely irritating bug, you'll be ready to combat the beast!

1. Benefit Re-Hydrating Mist. It's always nice to have a refreshing spritz when you're holed up in bed all day.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar. Seriously you guys this stuff is a miracle worker when it comes to sore throats. I mix two table spoons of it with water, a splash of apple juice, cinnamon and sugar - a great recommendation from Lindsay!

3. Lip Balm With Olive Oil. My lips get so dry when I'm sick, and when I was in Paris I picked up this amazing lip balm. It has olive oil in it and I swear it works like magic.

4. Cuties. I mean I eat like ten of these a day.

5. My Kindle. If Mila wasn't sick as well I probably would not be curled up in bed with a slew of good books, but she snuggled next to me and dozed/watched Elmo. When you're a sick mom this is way more than you can ask for. I'm currently reading this and this.

6. Warm Feet. Aren't these cozy little socks from Old Navy the cutest? When I'm not feeling well,  I pretty much take that as an excuse to wear the most outrageous socks imaginable.

7. Cups and cups of tea. Love this sweet Anthro mug.

URGHGHG!! I haven't had the flu in years but I know how terrible it is. Great tips here. I've never used Apple Cider Vinegar for sore throats but I'm trying it next time...hopefully I won't have to for quite some time!!
