Friday: We'll Drink To That

10/12/2012

Happy Friday my sweet readers! This week has been eventful for me. I quit my job after almost five and a half years. I have mixed emotions about it. There have certainly been many rough patches associated with the job that over the years have left a bad taste in my mouth. At the same time, I met some pretty extraordinary people, many of whom I am proud to call good friends. And no matter how challenging or stressful or frustrating a job can be, leaving a place that I have been for over five years feels almost like I am leaving a home. Not your New York City Penthouse type home, but a one with some cracks and leaky faucets and one that created many, many memories. Have you changed jobs before? What were your emotions in the aftermath?

In other news, my new job at Lulu & Georgia seems like a pretty rad little "house" too. It's brand new and it has lots of pretty things inside of it. Check it out! :)

Did you see Erika's brand new site? Congrats on 10 years! Erika also designed Lulu & Georgia's site, in case you didn't know!

Oh my God: The collaboration between Atlantic-Pacific and Bauble Bar. Amazing.

I'm loving the details of Jillian's wedding. The 3 generations photo is priceless.

If I didn't live in San Diego where the weather is 80 degrees right now, and if I had another $700 to spare, I would buy this Alexander McQueen coat in a second!

I guest-posted on Little Bits of Lovely earlier this week about my dream living space.

Check out my posts here and here from Lulu and Georgia this week!

And don't miss our giveaway for a pretty little blouse!

Changes are always hard but also very exciting- I left a job after 4.5 years this year and even though I didn't love it and was ready to go it was still really hard to leave

Congratulations. What a huge and scary and exciting step you've taken! I'm in the midst of a major career change myself and it is constantly terrifying but at the same time I know with all certainty that I'm doing the right thing. Here's to hoping it works out great for both of us!

Congratulations on an exciting next step, and a big hug for losing that home. I left a job I despised and even that felt painful and sad, but it's always good when it's time to go.

Oh congratulations on starting the new chapter of your life! I've changed jobs a few times, and it's hard every time. But you'll keep the good memories and friends, and that's what matters :)

I know it's hard leaving what we are familiar with, but wow what a great new place to be working for! Is it an online only shop or do they have a physical store? What do you do there? So exciting!

it seems that the toughest part of leaving a job you have been at for so long is leaving the people... when you have found a "home" full of great people, it is so tough to move on...but it sounds like this is a great new move for you!!! congrats on you new position with lulu & georgia...that is amazing news :) XOXO Brynn
