Last weekend, Ian and I drove along the coast up to Ojai, a little town nestled about 20 minutes south and 20 minutes inland from one of our other favorite spots, Santa Barbara. Here's a few photos, if you'd like to see.
I'd heard about Ojai Valley Inn & Spa (and may have looked at the photos more than a few times before our stay) but it far exceeded my expectations. Much to Ian's embarrassment I took tons of photos around the hotel but they don't do it justice. Our standard room was huge and everyone was so friendly. Also, the hotel read this post and left a few surprises in our room.
I could've happily stayed at the resort the entire weekend, but am glad we ventured out into Ojai for some serious hiking (you know it's bad when walking down stairs days later is painful) and some serious eating. We had lunch at Feast Bistro on Saturday and ate at Boccali's that night. The pizza and wine (it's a vineyard, too) were yummy, but the strawberry shortcake was life-changing. Seriously. On Sunday afternoon we grabbed a bit at Marche Gourmet Deli before heading home.

i LOVE ojai and ventura.. seriously..it's where we want to end up living in the next 5 years or so..
next time you visit, you MUST MUST MUST eat at the Farmer and the Cook.. it's owned by a husband and wife- he's the farmer, she's the cook, and everything is grown in ojai.. they make THE BEST vegan enchiladas with cashew nut cheese (even if you LOVE meat, that cashew cheese is WELL worth sacrificing meat for one meal)
looks like so much fun! i need to go back STAT (:
take me there please!!! looks amazing!

My home state yet I have never been in that area. I've only driven by Santa Barbara and the whole area is breathtaking!! Must go now!
