Sipping Mai Tais

7/10/2012

Recipe

Growing up, our family vacations were spent on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Mauna Kea. At the beach bar, the Mai Tai and the Frederiko are the most popular drinks. Once I was old enough to imbibe, the Mai Tai became my clear favorite, and during our recent vacation to Maui Ian and I had our fair share of the tropical drink.

A few years ago we toasted my Dad's 60th on the Big Island with a round of Mai Tais, and although we weren't in Hawaii for his birthday a few weeks ago, we still sipped on Mai Tais in celebration.

I adore the layout you used for this post. Creative and I could certainly use a mai tai to beat this summer heat!

I'll admit I've never even tried a mai tai! For shame ;) Looks like I'm going to have to give it a go.

I can't wait to try this recipe! I've been on the hunt for a good mai tai to make at home, so thank you! Unfortunately, I didn't like alcohol when I was in Hawaii with my husband on our honeymoon, so I didn't even try any drinks. Super lame. I'll definitely try next time we go!
