It's True.

7/23/2012

In light of the recent shooting tragedy in Colorado I got to thinking about the crazy mad rush that is my life. Between writing and editing, blog posting, parenting, cooking, cleaning and maintaining social obligations sometimes I think I'm trying too hard to "have it all." But then I thought, what does the phrase "trying to have it all" mean anyway? I have all of the above things to do. They are segments of my life and some are way more important than others. The key for me is realizing that often times those little moments in between are the ones that make life worth living. * Mila sharing her goldfish with Gorbie * Matt and I enjoying a dinner out, alone * Sharing a cup of tea with a friend * Long and wonderful conversations with my parents * A warm bed and a good book * "Having it all" means a rich and fulfilling life that has nothing to do with material possessions and monetary gain. And for this, everyday I am grateful.

totally agree!! and i ask myself why am i running around like a chicken with its head chopped off to prove what? who am i trying to impress? and then i ask myself why is it major acts like the shooting that cause me to pause and stop and think. shouldn't i do that without some major act?

We have everything we need, right? Our lives are pretty amazing. We need to appreciate them more.

Aw Alexa I completely agree with you. Sometimes I get caught up in that too and you are so right...it's stopping to actually enjoy life and in that aspect I am so rich :)

Completely agree Alexa; its those small moments that make up our days that are worth savouring and taking the time to appreciate. This is such a postitive way of looking at "how to juggle it all"! xx

I agree, but I also think it's easier said than done. We have a lot on our plates, and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves! It's just finding a way to make your own life work the best for you. Did you read this?
