Easier Said Than Done

Between work and the blog, I feel like I spend the majority of my time at the office, on my laptop or on my phone. Hard to admit, but true. So when I'm able to get away from work in time to enjoy more than an hour before it's time to go to sleep and do it all over again, I've been making an effort to NOT to pull out my laptop. Instead, we've rented movies, we've gone for cocktails, and I've woken up the next morning excited to get to work and to check out other blogs. I'd love to know, do you struggle with this too?

Oh yes. I have two online shops (Etsy) so I work from home. They are always open, so even when I'm home, I'm at work and always "checking in".

I absolutely agree! It is so hard to get away from the computer! And with blogs and pinterest and all sorts of other things, I find myself taking mini-breaks still attached to the monitor, which is a bad thing. Definitely trying to be more disciplined about getting away from the machine. We should form a support group. Online. Ha. The irony...

Yes! It is so hard to get away from the computer and phone! I spend most of my day at the computer at work, just to go home and hop on my laptop...it's sad! But, I love blogging and looking at other blogs...I've tried to get in some reading at night instead of being on the computer just to wind down...

I admit I do and you just need to set your priorities. Shut down your computer, especially on weekends, make time for going out, reading, spending time with family and friends (not Facebook friends). I admire deeply my husband and my friends who don't have a Facebook account.

Love the sign! I spend all day at work on the computer, but since we only have one laptop, I'm not on the computer very much at home. The husband always is on it then!

Yes! My husband works a lot and isn't home much and I'm embarrassed to say that sometimes when he's home and I should be spending quality time with him I'm too busy reading blogs, gossip sites, facebook, twitter, etc. I'm working on trying to do all this stuff when he's working and try to turn it off when he's home so we can actually talk and spend time together.

I agree! I spend so much time at the computer that I lose track of time and before I know it 4 hours have passed! Whoo! Thanks for sharing this refreshing post :)

I do. it's the only addiction I have. it's managable, but to live without internet for extended periods of time (I'm talking hours!!!) is hard!

Totally!! It's a little disturbing how much time I spend in front of the computer...

Tell me about it, I have been sitting on my sisters laptop for two hours now. That tells you how exciting my life is right now.

oh that print needs to be above my desk asap! I find I go back and forth with my commitment to blogging but when I am "on" I am truly "on" all the time! Hours upon hours pass without me even blinking. Let me know if you ever figure out how to balence it all please :)

It is really hard to cut ties with my computer. I mean I'm on it all day at work and then I come home and am on my laptop for at least 3 hours a day. Craziness.

I think we all do---it's like my computer is a magnet pulling me to it constantly!

Brilliant. I need one of those too!

Our weekends are on Fri and Sat, and so I just don't turn my laptop on, on Fridays. And if possible on Saturdays too. Yup, I failed today :-(

That's why I need one of these posters!
