What Are You Reading?

Hi friends. What are you reading right now? I'd love to know. I'm debating delving into the Hunger Games series but can't quite pull the trigger. (I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the other two books, but isn't Hunger Games meant for middle schoolers? Is it really that awesome?)

I have read the Hunger Games and it's sooo good! I highly recommend - but for another recommendation, anything from Emily Giffin!!

YES, read the Hunger Games series!! I was skeptical too at first but got hooked fast. I read the first one within two days. It's so hard to put down! They are an easy read since they are for the younger ones, but we can enjoy them too, right? hah The movie was good, but not nearly as good as the book. I'm on the second one just now and enjoying it as well.

DO IT! I was super skeptical as well. I didn't read Twilight for the same reasons, but the Hunger Games is VERY good! You won't regret it. After I finish the series I'm planning on reading 50 Shades Of Grey. So if you can't pull the trigger on the Hunger Games, there's another suggestion for you :) xoxo, morgan

I don't know that I have ever heard someone who has read the books, say NOT to read them. I know, I was skeptical too, but yes. They are that good. I promise you will love them.

Read the Hunger Games!!!! It's a young adult (high school) book {mainly because the protagonist is a teen}, but every adult I know who's read it loves it.

The Hunger Games really are that awesome! I finished them in 2 days like a crazy person...reading Your Voice In My Head by Emma Forest now, it's good but completely different and much more adult if that's what you're looking for!

wow! I was skeptical about the Hunger Games and the other day decided no to buy the book but after such good reviews, I think I'll give it a try!

The Hunger Games is really good, and although easy to read, deals with some heavy stuff, I would definitely suggest it. I also recently read The Perks of Being a Wallflower and it was so good!

Like everyone else has said...YES you definitely should read the Hunger Games. I know that you will not regret reading them, they give you a lot of good insight into how the setting of the books tie into our culture. The main underlying theme is to stand up for what is right despite the way our culture continuously tugs at us to fit in and obsess over appearance. I gained a lot of great perspective, and I really enjoyed them!

Not to quote everyone else, but definitely read the Hunger Games! Also, just started 50 Shades of Grey (anoyone else reading this?!). It is quite risque but very intriguing. Something different to say the least! It was decided upon at my book club.

I haven't been able to read Hunger Games yet either...sometimes I like to wait until the hype dies down before I get into books that are THAT popular!
Right now, I'm busy busy busy reading and editing my OWN novel...but I'm also rereading one of my all time favorite books, Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. I would highly recommend it!

I'm "reading" Inheritance, but it is taking me forever....I haven't sat down and read it in a while. It's the last book that starts with Eragon :)
My sister is 25 and she read The Hunger Games, so I think its okay :p

Ok, I was the same way you are- completely skeptical about Hunger Games. But I saw the movie, and I completely understand why there is such a craze. It is such an intriguing and unique story! If I had any spare time, I think I would be all over the books.

Currently, I'm reading "Mile Markers" by Kristin Armstrong (she writes for Runners World). It's great inspiration to just get out there and run (or do some kind of exercise...she doesn't discriminate!!). Love love love it :)

I was surprised that I liked it - but I didn't want to put it down! you should read it for sure :) Right now I'm reading The Space Between, and I really like it!

The Hunger Games is mega addictive. I read the whole series in 3 days. The Paris Wife was pretty awesome too and will make you feel fancy and literary because it is about Hemingway. I just finished reading all 3 50 Shades of Grey books for those who were wondering and it is straight up porn. Like I would say a good 35% of the book is sex and crazy sex. But it is also quite addictive. :) LOL.

READ IT!!! Just finished reading the series last week. Loved it.

YES!!! READ IT.

I actually hear mixed reviews. I have a friend who is totally in love with these types of books but apparently it's like the "team Jacob" or "team Edward" conundrum and it may not necessarily end the way you hope. But what do I know, I haven't picked up the book for myself!

READ THE HUNGER GAMES! OK, that was a little intense, haha, but I was hesitant too because of all the hype - but I delved in anyway, and SO glad I did :)

My hubby read all three Hunger Games in one week! I am currently reading Clara Callan. It's a book composed of letters between two sisters. It's a bit drawn out but has been a good read! Thanks for your comment :) Am following you now!

Ummmm...you SERIOUSLY have to do Hunger Games. I don't know any adult that has read it who thinks it wasn't a fantastic series. Yes, it's YA but adults can enjoy it too!

Currently, I'm reading Water for Elephants and wow, I had no idea it was this sad. And I'm only abbout half way through. But it's a great read so far.

Lindsay [Elle Elizabeth] said...

I loved the Hunger Games trilogy! I read all three books over the course of the week. I highly suggest it. Yes it was written for a younger audience but it has some very difficult and adult like subjects in it.

Love the little scrabble pieces on the image! So cute! OK first. You MUST read Dragon Tattoo. All three of them. You will become totally obsessed. I can't vouch for the Hunger Games although I've heard its good. Once you are done with Dragon Tattoo - proceed to Game of Thrones. Both the show and the books are my obsession. I really can't get enough.

I thought that about the Hunger Games at first too, but once you get started they are so addicting!

Just do it! I just finished the first book in the series last night and love it! You wont regret it.

I have several other that I have started but never really go into and stopped reading halfway through, but I am def into reading this one!

I'm actually about to start reading Hunger Games today! I just finished reading two of Babara Kingsolver's early novels - the bean trees and pigs in heaven. They were definitely an enjoyable read but not my favorites of hers. Have you read any ofher stuff? I highly recommend the poisonwood bible and animal, vegetable, miracle!
