DIY Patio

Remember how I said Ian was re-doing our patio for my birthday? Well, here are a few snapshots of the progress!

We shopped around for patio furniture and went with a classic wrought iron table and chairs (from Target!). Then, we added Pottery Barn pillows in classic navy and white stripes, a mason jar candle holder, and fresh flowers.

We live minutes from the beach, so Ian's surfboards need to be accessible, but until now they were strewn across the patio. After a few hours (O.K. really half a Sunday) at Home Depot, we came home with a surfboard rack. I can't believe how well it turned out!

I adore the old fashioned lights I keep seeing at restaurants. Ian took a hint and got some for our patio. At night it's like our own little cafe and makes me smile every time I look out there.

The lavender is the only thing that's survived since we first planted our garden. I pretty much kill everything, but Ian has a green thumb and is going to plant some summer veggies soon. We're thinking tomatoes and arugula!

Where did you find the patio lights? I am also re-doing our patio and I found a smaller set at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, but I really think I like your larger ones better. Also, did you find the PB rugby stripe pillows in the store or did you have to order them from PB online?

It looks great!

It looks great. I love the surfboard rack (and 5 minutes from the beach sounds like heaven).
Would LOVE to know where you found the lights. I need some for some large metal letters I recently picked up :)

The lights are from Home Depot!

And Katie - the pillows were from the online PB shop (Classic Stripe) but shipping is free!

Loving your patio pillows, probably because I have the same color scheme going on on my patio! I would also like to know where you got the lights, they are so happy and cheerful.

It looks great. I love the lights idea. SO fun and romantic. Definitely reminds of one of my favorite restaurants. The surfboards look awesome. Don't worry about your black thumb, mine use to be black but it eventually turned green with years of trying. Although I can still kill the unkillable (Don't think that's a word) Ivy plant.
