Homemade Pizza

2/02/2012

A few months ago, Ian and I had the Pinot Noir pizza at this wine bar, and on Sunday we re-created it at home (minus the truffle oil, sigh). It was so easy, the combination of the salty prosciutto and Fontina with the peppery arugula was delicious, and felt fancy.

Ingredients
Pizza dough (we used wheat)
Prosciutto
Fontina, grated
Arugula
Lemon juice
Olive oil
S&P

Directions
Brush the dough with olive oil and bake as directed (I pre-heated the oven to 450 but lowered the temp to 425 when I put the dough in), but take it out 5-7 minutes before it's done. Layer the prosciutto and cheese and pop the pizza back into the oven, right on the rack. Meanwhile, mix the arugula with lemon juice, olive oil, S&P to taste. Take the pizza out once the cheese is melted and top with dressed arugula. Bon appetite!

Ina Garten has a very similar recipe that I absolutely love...in hers you infuse garlic in the olive oil you brush on the crust, it's incredible! xoxo

This looks so delicious, and I just happen to have all the ingredients at home! I think I'll make one with 1/2 proscuttio for the boy and 1/2 artichokes in its place for me (I'm going pescetarian for the month). Thanks for the dinner inspiration!
