Month 1.

1/09/2012

So January, as it turns out, is one of my least favorite months (which is odd because it's my birthday month as well as Matt's). But it just seems so dreary. With the holidays being over; there's no sparkle in the trees and spring flowers are still buried beneath the damp soil.

But in honor of the first month of the year I give you four things about January that make me say "yay."

 {Delicate white tree tips.}

 {The start of brand new things.}

{The continued use of scarves, my favorite accessory.}

{Winter fashion. For some reason this combo screams January to me and I love it.}

Do you like January? What's your favorite month of the year? Mine's October. Some reasons why: here, here and here.

P.S. The winner of our Bachik giveaway is...Jacqueline of the sweet blog, Just Trendy! Sorry we didn't post earlier (Kirby and I were busy today)! Congrats Jacqueline and please email us so we can get you in touch with Taylor!

I have to admit that it isn't my favorite month but I'm trying to look at it differently this year. All of your reasons seem good to me! :) xoxo

October's my favorite too! January can get a little dreary, but you're right. It's a time for new beginnings! And wearing houndstooth like that pretty last picture.

I love January! I just hate February haha. And march... But the start of something fresh is just so inspiring & tempting.

Hi Alexa! Kind of true, Jan. always seems so sloggy--like all this work to slog through, although luckily for us the weather has been amazing. Still, it just feels long and kind of tedious. Can't wait for spring...seriously!

Hope you're having a great Monday!

Lindsay...frankly it is hot! I live in San Diego...but the nights have been chilly...so scarves it is! We also don't have white tree tips...but I like to pretend they are out there somewhere this time of year! Ha.

January isn't my favorite month, but I do like it! always makes me feel like I have a lot of time to accomplish things before my favorite season, Spring.

Usually January is a little dreary but for some reason it seems reassuring and warm this year. White tree tips are so dreamy! and the colors in that last image are perfect with each other!

I love January because I find myself wearing winter clothes in updated color combinations. I tend to blend spring and winter and I love it! My wardrobe feels new again.

Love the photos in this post! Makes January not so bad after all :) I love the fall months. The slightly chillier weather (while still sunny) is always so refreshing.

I don't think I have a favorite month. I normally love the winter months in general but this season has been a bit cold for my taste. I love your picture of the white-tipped trees!

I hate January too! The weather is not particularly cold but the days are very short and grey and I inevitably have zero money left after the Christmas splurges! I think most people have mixed feelings about January so it’s a good reason to focus on the positives!

I've never liked any of the winter months, but this January has been so nice!

My favourite month is May, and the runner-up is April. I absolutely adore Spring. It's the beginning of everything good: flowers, sun showers, summer, BBQs, autumn, etc...
