Turkey Day Plans

10/26/2011

What are your Thanksgiving plans lovelies? This year Ian and I are heading up to Mendocino county to spend the holiday with his family. I have only spent one other Thanksgiving without my family and it was with Ian, too - when he visited me in Thanksgiving during my semester in Oxford. To make up for it, we'll be having dinner with my whole family this Sunday!

I love that you get to see both families! I think we are spending it with my husbands family this year :)

I love getting to have multiple holiday celebrations rather than stressing over whose family wins each day. That said, it will be just the hubs and I on a beach in Hawaii at Thanksgiving. It's our little tradition and we're grateful for it. :)

i am actually not sure! i'm either going to my stepdad's family's house or to my grandma's. last year i was in Arizona, so didn't have to choose!

We already celebrated our Canadian Thanksgiving
(http://www.bestofthislife.com/2011/10/happy-thanksgiving.html)
but because my hubby is American, we'll be celebrating that one too...two thanksgivings...and we have lots to be thankful for. The first one was with lots of family - but the upcoming one will be just my husband and I and our son. There will be turkey, gluten-free stuffing and pumpkin pie!

I am a bit overly excited for thanksgiving this year... we celebrate thanksgiving with our friends from Paris who will be coming here and a few other german friends and family, we make our own traditions and it is always heaps of fun! Instead of the whole bird, I braise turkey thighs and my mouth is watering thinking about them right now, delicious!
