9/09/2011

This Sunday is an anniversary, albeit a sad one. It makes me think of the past ten years and what has happened between September 11, 2001 and September 11, 2011. Below are ten words (one word that came to mind for each year). It's amazing how quickly time passes and yet in the most troubled times, how slow it can seem. Hope everyone takes some time to pause and reflect this weekend. Hugs.

2001:Vunerable
2002: War
2003: Grandma
2004: Graduate
2005: Adventure
2006: Love
2007: Home
2008: I Do
2009: Loss
2010: Life
2011: Empowering

I really love this entry! I can't believe so many years have gone by and so much has happened in all of our lives! It's a good feeling to know that despite our times of vulnerability, we can move forward and thrive.
Have a good weekend!

i like this idea. it's so fresh in our minds but it's already been a decade.

I can remember EXACTLY where I was and what I was doing when the towers were hit..i think most of us can say that, no? Truly an American (world) tragedy. It is important to remember and honor the past but also celebrate our tremendous unity and future. It really is hard to believe it has been an entire decade.

Love your list. My hubby lived in NYC on 9/11 and it gives me chills every time I think about it.

What a pretty picture. Crazy how time passes, no? My current high school students were very small children on that day and barely remember it.

It still is such a vulnerable time for us. I'm nervous about flying this week.

Beautiful post and I love that you chose a happy photo to remember this sad day. I can't believe it was 10 years ago and watching the videos still bring tears to my eyes.

Loved this post. It's interesting how 9/11 was sort of a life before and after moment, no matter where we were at the time.
Wishing you a great week!
