Easter Sunday

{Homemade pancakes topped with strawberries}
{My new high-waisted Genetic Denim jeans from Capricorn Boutique made their debut}
{I love the art deco architecture}
{We made a new friend}
{Balboa Park is such a special place, we vowed to go more often after this visit}
{Ian's order: farmers' BLT - crispy Berkshire bacon, grilled organic tomatoes, Suzie's Farm red leaf lettuce, garlic aioli on sourdough bred. He substituted taro root chips with shoestring fries}
{My indulgent order: the alchemy poutine - a base of shoestring fries topped with sausage gravy, Mahon cheese, roasted mushrooms and a sunny side egg}

One of the best things about living with Ian is making our own traditions. On Sunday, we nixed a fancy Easter brunch out and had a lazy breakfast at home. After working up an appetite walking around Balboa Park and visiting the San Diego Natural History Museum, we tried a new restaurant called Alchemy in South Park. It was the perfect Sunday ;)

Central Park has its own magic, but I will forever love Balboa Park, and the little restaurants and shops that South Park boasts. I'm going to get back to SD one of these days, and South Park's gonna be all grown up! :) Your breakfasts look fab, I have to say!
