Under the Weather

Well the truth of the matter is that I'm sick. I've been fighting a cold/flu for the past week and the darn thing just won't let up! I've been taking at least three warm showers per day, drinking loads of hot water with lemon and honey and finally gave in and bought cough medicine. It's rather exhausting being over 39 weeks pregnant and sick (which is probably something you all could have guessed). I have my good days and bad at this point. Sometimes I just in bed and cry, other times I have a burst of positive energy and almost feel like an Olympic athlete before competition.

Last night I woke up at 3:00 am and couldn't breathe. I shuffled into the shower where I doused my face in this eucalyptus body wash that I found at Trader Joes and stood there for 20 minutes imagining that I was in a steam room at the Nob Hill Spa in San Francisco. Then I toweled off, wrapped myself in a robe, made a pot of tea and watched an episode of Modern Family, which by the way, was hilarious. I had a burst of positive energy at this point and felt that I could do just about anything at 4:00 in the morning. Of course, what I did was promptly fall into a deep sleep for two hours, until I had to wake up to go to the bathroom. But it was wonderful. At this point, it's all the short and sweet little things that help keep me positive. For this I am thankful.
