Oh Hello, Summer

June gloom carried into July this summer, but the sun finally came out this weekend and I took full advantage, spending nearly every waking hour outside. On Saturday, Jacqueline and I got coffee and shopped a bit in La Jolla before heading to the beach with Kristine and McKenzie,where we remained until the late afternoon (only breaking to bike ride to our favorite sandwich shop). After sleeping in way later than usual, Ian and I hit the beach on Sunday too. After surfing for a few hours (him, not me!), we read side by side before picking up Phil's BBQ (a San Diego phenomenon that I had yet to try until yesterday) for dinner. As far as weekends go, this one came pretty close to perfect.
